JARS Cannabis is the most progressive cannabis retailer in the United States. They are committed to providing high-quality products, with a wide variety of options at prices that people can afford. 

We were contacted to help JARS increase their organic reach, outside of their customer text message list. 

Their goal for hiring us was simple - increase traffic to their stores while staying true to their brand mission.

There was an enormous opportunity to speed up their website and fix a lot of technical errors relating to the code. 
They had big aspirations to spreading their brand voice but were not creating content on their website supporting the brand values.
Their URL structures were not optimized and were disorganized. We needed to find a way to have Google crawl the website like a local and national site simultaneously. 
Their local SEO signals were mixed or missing. We needed a way to add these elements without appearing "try hard." 

The Execution

Website Structure

Before hiring us, we realized that their store pages were buried in unnecessary folders and the URL names didn't send any local signals. We "flattened" their URL structure to allow Google to easily navigate to the pages and renamed the URLs to their city name. 

Complete Website Revamp

Their website when we were hired was in very poor shape. It was built on a very outdated theme that caused the website to be slow and missing critical code. We re-developed their whole website with fresh code fixing the website's structure and implementing 301 redirects to help Google find the new location pages. 

Content Marketing

They did not have any real blog content outside of store openings which read like a press release. We researched and developed a content plan surrounding what their target customer was searching online and took extra care to stay true to their brand voice. The unique combination of branding and SEO has earned them multiple first positions in search results.

Internal Linking & Techincal SEO

With our new content marketing plan, we were able to leverage internal linking to the most important pages which provided signals to Google that the locations page was important. We also optimized the store pages with Schema code and other local signals that helped drive organic listings and Google My Business listings. 


Increased blog visits and store visits in less than a year.
